Coaching for first-time engineering managers
A 12-week program for new managers learning the part of the job that isn't code — the people, the conversations, the judgment calls.
About
The people side of the role
Becoming a manager is a career change disguised as a promotion. The skills that got you here — shipping, debugging, owning the hard problem — aren't the ones that make you a good manager. The new job is conversations: 1:1s, feedback, hiring, performance, navigating up.
This is a 12-week program built around that shift. We work on the situations actually showing up in your week — the report who's struggling, the peer who won't commit, the skip-level who wants more from you — and turn them into reps you can learn from.
By the end, you'll have a way of working that's yours: how you run 1:1s, how you give feedback, how you make calls when the answer isn't obvious.
